Since the acquisition of Sun, Oracle didn't have an expectation of positive growth with Hardware, but the optimism has increased and the expectation is that the biggest slice will come with the cloud.
In the fiscal third-quarter report past the expectation was that database and applications would match the 70% of revenue, equivalent to $ $9,36 Billion, an increase of 4% compared to last year.
As in the second quarter, the optimism was that sales of hardware had a considerable growth.Hardware-related products have a growth of 3%, well below the expected in the second fiscal quarter of 2013, according to financial analysts: the expectation that this year growth between 2 and 3% over the third quarter.
In other words, the Oracle line Exa which are systems designed to work in conjunction with the Hardware does not have enough breath to compensate for making there was a decrease in revenue from Oracle.
Analysts expect the growth of Hardware will come with the cloud.
