Good afternoon everyone!

I need something that I don't know if it's possible ... I need to pass a name as a condition and retrieve information regardless of their accent. For example, inform \"José da Silva\" and I want you to return data from the \"José da Silva\" and \"Jose da Silva\" no accent. Would this be possible?

Thank You!!

Good afternoon, Sandra!

I'm using version 10 g and in my manuals have a page showing this characteristic.
example: deLuis, DELUIS, DeLuis and Déluis.
Code: Select all
ALTER SESSION SET NLS_COMP=ANSI;
ALTER SESSION SET NLS_SORT=GENERIC_BASELETTER;

SELECT CUST_LAST_NAME FROM OE.CUSTOMERS
WHERE CUST_LAST_NAME = NLS_UPPER('DeLuis');
hope that helps!

Gilberto, the Oracle version I'm using is the 9i and I tried what you suggested but it didn't work here ... Does not give syntax error, but does not return what I need ...

Anyway, thank you.
