Hello everyone,
I have a relatively simple question in Oracle 11g:
I need to use an old backup of the base, which was up to another disk, how should I proceed after copying the same pro server?
Should I make restore of ControlFile and then only a restore database?
I believe I should not use the Recovery Database for him not to use the Archivelogs ... Am I correct?
Without doing recovery, the base or archives can suffer a problem?
Thanks!
ABS.

Brother, if you have the old backup done via RMAN and go up a new base on the same release, I see no difficulty in it.
What I recommend is to check in that backup via Rman to check the consistency of this backup and make a restore.
If the backup was done correctly, certainly the Data Files, Control Files and Redo Logs will be ready to be recovered on this new base.
Now the following if the old base is running is much more practical to make a duplicate (clone) of the old base.
Well, any questions are here.
