Hello

I currently have a bank running in the environment below:

Environment information:
* version of Oracle: 10.2.0.1
* Operating system: Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise X64 Edition SP2

By unavailability of hardware I will be passing this seat to another machine. The question is, how should I proceed? I work very little with Oracle, I already read something about the kinds of backup of it but can someone give me a light of how should I do it?
Data from the new environment:

Environment information:
* Oracle version: 10.2.0.1
* Operating system: Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise SP2

Will you go from an architecture to another?

I really did not have this experience yet! 64Bits ==> 32bits (downgrade)
I do not know if the data files will be compatible in case of a cold backup.

Kara não should be complicated ....
But it must be prepared for the contingencies não é? ..
but easier side (há my view) depending on the internal conspiguration of the bank
Install everything on the new server
Backup Exp at the Owner level
Make Imp at the Owner level (on the server)
Now if it is cold backup (Cold Backup) or RMAN
is more complicated !!

Really at the beginning will be passed from an architecture to another, I am preparing the environment and updating the server.

After this I will install Oracle to then take a test.

For now, thank you for help. In addition to having this issue of architecture, there is also that I never made a migration from Oracle.

Well I do not know if I can help a lot, I'm not a dba but already "I played" a little in this area and did just what you will do, (64bit - 32bit) and I'll tell you some things I'vê had difficulties, maybe a DBA Have ready solutions.

If it is EXP and IMM Esteje prepared so that the tablespaces are already created and set to the size of which is in the "Old" Bank your case 64bits
(I had the problem of not knowing how to do it on the exp to carry the tablespace together, I had to before giving the IMP create the tablespace with the same names in the "new" bank.
I also had to first create the roles in the "new" bank before I do the imp.

I do not know if that I said will help in something, but there are my comments !!!!!

Oops, it sure helps yes. You still "already joked" and I do not even hand anything ... Tablespace ... Roles ...
But I'm already reading documentation to prepare for the adventure!

The ideal, if possible, is to install / configure the other server and then use the utilities of this new installation to perform copy / backup / import, that is, use the binaries of the new installation.

Installs the Bank on the 32-bit server

Old bench = 64-bit
New bench = 32-bit

Do you know how to make EXP? ? if yes it does it in the 64-bit using the user or system

when you finish installing the bank it gives you a URL where you have a graphic application to make control of the bank, and there you You can view your tablespace and the size each one is.

My address is like this: http://nome_servidor:1158/em/

VA in the application of the old bank and take note of all tablespace and the size of them
VA in the new bank's application and create exactly the same.

With this select

Select all

select distinct(granted_role )
from dba_role_privs
You run it on the old bench and see what does not have in the new bench and create it.

After that makes the Imp in the new bank and hope that there is no problem, if you have problems put there that we will see if someone can help !!
