Good afternoon,
I need an aid, restore through RMAN a production server with Oracle 10G RAC, for another server that will be Standy BY, the new server has grid and Oracle software installed, has no Database created, you can restore with another database name, as I must proceed, I already copied to the RMAN files and the Control File.

Production server:
Linux operating system: Red-Hat 5
Oracle Database 10g rac 10.2.0.5
Oracle grid 11.2.0.3 [
99] Database Name: PRD

Stand by:
Linux operating system: Red-Hat 5
Oracle Database 10g rac 10.2.0.5
Oracle Grid 11.2.0.3
Database Name: STY

@Vggodoi,

You can do this with duplicate via RMAN. Search for this!

The only way to do it is to use the duplicate.

I would make a restore with the same name, then I would do the Duplicate from PRD to STY.

For this, you can copy only the base pfile acts to the new machine, and the new machine climb the PRD bank in Nomount mode.

Makes Restore via RMAN of ControlFile and Spfile, and follows with the restore of the base.

After that does the duplicate.

Only I find this very laborious. My option would be by EXPDP / IPDP.
