Is it possible to use Oracle Xe free to create a website? I will create a small ERP system in PHP for a gym, and would like to know if I can use Oracle XE as my database.

Greetings ALS04545,
Benvendo to the Glufke Forum.
ORACLE 11G XE [/b] would also be free for commercial developments.
However, it presents some limitations with regard to the versions of Oracle .
It is limited to the use of at most:
- 1 CPU;
- 1 GB of RAM;
- 11 GB of disk space for data storage on tablespaces;
To download the 11g version of xe , use the link below:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/produ ... index.html
]
The oracle xe 11g documentation can be obtained at this link:
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17781_01/index.htm
Licensing specific on this link:
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17781_01/lic ... 68/toc.htm
O Oracle Xe [/b] also comes with the development platform Oracle Apex (Oracle Application Express), which allows you to develop complete web applications that are fully integrated with xe .
The Oracle Apex documentation is in this link:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/devel ... index.html
Hugs and good luck !

Dear ALS04545,
I am from the opinion if you want to create a small system or website, use a database with fewer resources like a mysql of life.
for medio-sized systems or sites, interesting to use an Oracle bank, even because it has more features etc.

Answering your question. Yes, you can use by observing all the considerations placed by Sergio Coutinho.
But I would reinforce what Crishpg spoke.
MySQL has free versions, is a bank that is evolving a lot and bringing many benefits to anyone who develops small applications.
Another important point is support. MySQL will give you much more freedom to develop your application.
I'vê been through it, lol.
