Steps to install Oracle XE with Forms Developer6i


1) Install the Oracle XE bank

2) Installing Forms 6i Free Release2 Version on Oracle - Oracle9ias Forms Services and Oracle Forms Developer 6i Release 2

) Download the patch17 - p4183804_600_winnt (search for internet on google by that name .zip and you will find on sites like megaupload and rapidshare. If you have access to metalink, then there you will find it easily)

4) Install Patch17 in the same home that installed Forms 6i.


5) Copy sqlnet.ora tnsnames.ora from Oracle Xe through the path:

Select all

C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\NETWORK\ADMIN

Inside of the path

Select all

C:\orant\NET80\ADMIN

of Forms 6i

6) Enter DOS and run the following path connecting as SYSDBA to make the following changes via SQLPlus:

Select all

C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\BIN>sqlplus / as sysdba

7) Using the following commands when connected to SQLPlus:

Select all

SQLPLUS>shutdown immediate 
SQLPLUS>startup restrict 
SQLPLUS>ALTER DATABASE CHARACTER SET INTERNAL_USE UTF8; 
SQLPLUS>shutdown immediate 
SQLPLUS>startup

Hello,

After installing Oracle Xe (Westerneuropeean) The 2nd statement is to install Forms 6i Release2.

At this point already of the error

Select all

netc80.map(0): FILE_NOT_FOUND while mapping netc80

and aborts the installation. I found other topics where the staff could not connect to the XE with the forms installed, but I can not even install Forms / Reports.

Does anyone have any idea what it may be?
