Good afternoon Personal, my problem is as follows:
I have an HP-UX server RP3440 B.11.11 U 9000/800 with Oracle 9.2.0.5.0, where the same is configured To generate log files (archive log), my problem is that it is generating many logs (5 in 5 minutes) generates a 100 MB file, I would like to know if you have any way to generate fewer log files.
Note: I have 4 groups and 2 Loop members with a size of 102400 kbytes each.
Thanks in advance.
Luciano

This depends on the activities held on the bank!
The main components used to adjust the Logs Generation are:
Check these parameters and activate tb Undo Advisor, to help you scale the UNDO tablespace.

Retain information after Update's and / or Delete's thus performing rollback or to keep the integrity of the Select command result.
As for the generation of Archive's, or logs, it is at the time when the bank alternates between the meters and between the lounge groups. To decrease the generation you can change the size of the redo, the larger the place to amaze less it will generate archive, but then you will have the problem of getting a lot of damaged information if your bank will have problems. It will depend on the potential of your hardware.

Really, my response was incomplete, not to say wrong! : LOL:
is that here in our project, in addition to adjusting the frequency of log change, we even had to dimension the undo, as a load procedure did not complete.
True! To complete, the following links helped me in adjusting our instance and may be of relevance to the problem: http://www.samoratech.com/OraAdmin/swcheckpoint.htm http://www.databasejournal.com/features ... hp/3395731Gypsy wrote: As for the generation of Archive's, or logs, it is at the time when the bank alternates between the meters and between the sets of Log .
