Good morning everybody!

We have a question here in the company and would like to rely on your help. :)

We are having the following problem:
- An application that is being developed by our programmers team runs correctly on a machine with Windows 2000 Server and Oracle version 9.2.0.1.0
- The same application does not work correctly on a machine with Windows Server 2003 (32-bit) and Oracle version 9.2.0.8.0

Doubt is: Is it possible for the application to present operating errors due to the differences presented above? :?

If so, could you give me some suggestion or a possible solution to healing this problem?!

Any information more than need to be able to help me with more accurately, I'll always be available, okay?!

Thanks a lot for any help or light they can give us.

A hug to all,

Ricardo. :)

Perhaps the problem is the versions of Oracle, (one has a newer patch than the other: 9.2.0.1.0 and 9.2.0.8.0).

Is not that it?
We have to know what goes wrong to be able to help. Any error message, etc.

Hello comrades Thomas and Alexandre and all of the forum.

Thomas, maybe the problem is really the versions of Oracle. But I honestly do not know if it would be that. After searching a bit on the net to know if anyone had already gone through something similar, I decided to post here, because I have my doubts about the operating system because the application works on Windows 2000 Professional and in Windows XP no, as well as Works on Windows 2000 Server and does not work on Windows Server 2003. :?

Alexander, may even be for lack of a patch. So I got the error message with one of the programmers here from the company. In fact this way it is easier to identify some specific patch that is missing. :)

The error is:

Select all

Type mismatch for fied ‘VALOR’, expecting: FMTBcdField actual: BCD
The value field is a number (12.2).

I hope that through this message I can identify where the error may be.

Thanks for your help and keep counting on her, okay?! : D

I also take advice to thank those who can more help.

Hugs to all. :)

Ricardo.

It seems that this problem is Delphi and not from the bank, alias, from any bank, because I put this error message into a Google query and the result reveals problems with Delphi components.
An example: http://delphi.newswhat.com/geoxml/forum ... orland.com

Well, it's Gilbertoca, I believe it's that too.

From what I have seen this problem is with DePlhi 5/7 dbexpress.

Hello people! Now there's more of a comrade helping. Thank you all. : D

Come on:

Cristiano: The application is in Delphi, version 2005. You are not using any connection.

Gilberto: I talked to the responsible programmer about his observation about being a Delphi problem. And he told me he believes it's not Delphi's problem, because even with the problem, the application is running on a machine (Windows 2000 Server and Oracle version 9.2.0.1.0). Only in which has Windows Server 2003 (32 bits) and Oracle version 9.2.0.8.0 that is giving the error. And the schedule is made on the programmer machine. So he gave me the information about the field that is giving the problem: "The value field is a number (12.2).", And that could be some delphi configuration conflict with Oracle for reading this field. That makes sense?
Good, I'm not a programmer, I only take care of the company's infra, and I'm trying to give a personal pro force. :) And because of this is that I would like to know if the problem is in Oracle and / or Windows (my responsibilities). If it's in Delphi, then I will not be able to help a lot ... hehehe ... now, would it be missing to load a file or something more from Delphi into the server that does not work the application to work normally? This is because the server does not work the application was newly created. I looked at the server on which the application works correctly and it does not have Delphi installed. But will one day have and was uninstalled leaving some "trail" on the server? I have a little more than 3 months of company and I do not know the history of the servers very well. And I still do not know Delphi to know these details. You understand, right?! :) And the worst is that in the link found on the problem they did not get a solution. : LOL: What hardness, is not it?!

Cristiano Again: This dbexpress by a chance is a .dll file? I have been able to make the application run on some company machines by simply copying .dll files from a machine where the application works for what I'm trying to get hit. I ask this question because in the middle of these DLL has a file called dbexpor.dll that if I am not mistaken it was found inside a borland folder. The guy who found the file no longer remembers the name. :)

That's it guys. Thank you very much for the help of all of you. I hope we can reach a solution.

If you have any idea what I can do here or any questions as you can come to help in the solution, please post, okay?! :)

Embrace to all,

Ricardo.

Hello Ricardo all beleza ???

taking a look at the net I found a topic similar to this problem that you are facing, but with another version of Delphi, and in this topic the problem was related to versions of DLL who each machine had . I leave here [url=http://forum.devmedia.com.br/viewtopic. ... ad0a35dc79]link to take a look. And I will continue to look for anything else in this regard.

Hello my comrades!

Cristiano Friend: I took a look at the link you passed and I think it will help me a bit. That's because I asked for another programmer here from the company what DBExpress would be and he replied that it is a component of Delphi, and that such a dbexpor.dll file is part of it. Then I took a look at the SYSTEM32 folder of the server where the application works and found that the dbexpor.dll file exists. Then I looked at the same server folder where the application does not work and ...: Shock: ... did not have the file. I copied the file there. I believe that now the problem should be solved.

concluding, dear friend Cristiano, the other friends who helped me and the other friends of the forum ... when I could make that copy of a file, the project programmers were already left. And I'm so far in the company ... you know how it's infrastructure and support, right?! :)

That is, my comrades ... We will only be able to know if it worked on Monday, God willing. Until then, who else has any other idea feel at ease, okay?! :) I'm going to access over the weekend too.

per hour, what I can do and wish everyone a great weekend and ask for Daddy from heaven that helps in this cause. : Wink:

Thanks guys! Thank you very much for the strength you have given me.

A hug to everyone!

Ricardo.
