Galera, good afternoon.
Would anyone know if only Oracle Xe runs in Debian or other versions, too?
There are several tutorials by teaching Debian to install Oracle 10G R2. But is this version Xe, Enterprise or Standard?

Thanks for help,
Hugs to all

Environment information:
* version of Oracle: 10 g
* Operating system: Debian Etch 4

If you install all the dependencies, you will not import the type of debian, but I think Enterprise would have less problem.
The most suitable is always Red Hat, if using the 4 Enterprise, do not have to install any prerequisite package, for example.

Anderson, good morning !! Thanks for the answer.
Anderson, you meant that if I install all debian packet dependencies, you will not import Oracle's version, right?
For this is my question !!!
If in Debian, can you run the XE, Enterprise or Standard version of Oracle 10G R2? !!

A hug and even more !!!

Like all packages it runs any version of Oracle.

If a package is missing, it does not let the installer run this applies to any linux and unix ...

in RedHat 5 is a delivery; ~~

full of packets to be able to rotate;

Then

That is why Oracle has not yet approved in Red Hat 5, it recomments the 4.

For sure, but the bad to install in non-homologated version is that you practically loses the support if you need it ...

understood ?? in the company where I work does not roll ... I do not leave , only if it is approved.

And my boss agrees with me ...: D

Many companies find that the support is the DBA; ~~

and does not hire Oracle's support by healing everything;
