Environment information:
And there are some users with the Inactive status, what does it mean? I can kill this process .. Does it consume something from the bank?

Select all

SQL> SELECT DISTINCT username, status FROM v$session;

USERNAME STATUS
------------------------------ --------
DBSNMP INACTIVE
SCOTT INACTIVE

Inactive means that it is not running anything in the bank, no resource but is connected ...
Only this ...

Active is when he is running something ... one SELECT for example.

Friend,

I recommend that the survey is made before any change, not to have problems with your users, but you can make this change in the idle_time parameter in the profile. Until because inactive users are consuming resources.

Junior ... rsrsr

I even agree, appeal, example, a session occupies a number of memory, but at that moment, if it is inactive it is not consuming resources from the bank, such as processing and Access to SO disc. Right?

Good morning,

first Samuka_Oracle, if you notice that there are many users connected with the Inactive status, it means that they are not with any active transaction in Oracle, and that if they get like this throughout the Day they end up consuming resources from your server, little truth, but if they are many users, they can consume machine resources in vain.
If you use dedicated server, you will have a server process that will stop there consuming SO and tal resources.

Mr. Rueevers,

Be humeless, the forums has the mission to help colleagues, it is not cool to laugh at a colleague, who helped giving the His contribution and that was correct. The fact that he is Júnior DBA does not measure his knowledge but the time he works with Oracle. Look that I have little time with Oracle and I have already seen much "DBA SR" to capture in the wrong affirmations.

Sincerely,

I hope I have helped ...

Anderson,

99] I do not usually play talk outside or talk about something I do not know, but once again Mr. It contests an attempt to help that I am giving a colleague. See the link above and in your opinion.
As for my signature of DBA Jr.. I feel with a small responsibility with this signature I try to help other people my intention and just mind this and learn from other colleagues.
