Good morning to all
I do not understand practically anything Oracle, but in the company I work, the BD is in Oracle and we are migrating the Server 2003 to 2008.
I migrated and now I have the following problem, I installed the server, I put as the domain controller all beautiful, later I installed Oracle all in conforming, but when I will ride the base he gives me the following message: ORA-12560: TNS: Protocol adapter error
given this error .. Do not let the creation of BD Oracle.
In Server 2003 this problem does not happen.
Then I did the following test .. on another machine .. I put the 2008 server, I installed Oracle and tried to create the BD .. created normal, but, as a precise domain, after creating The BD Oracle on the same machine, I went to put it as a domain controller, I put it and later I tried to create another base in Oracle, behold, it gave the same mistake.
So the problem is this .. this Incompatibility of Oracle with the domain.
Ahh .. To Using Oracle 10.2.0.4
Can anyone help me?
Thank you very much.
Thanks
Marco Aurelio

O Primeiro passo não vale nada se você não chegar ao final.
I do not have much contact with windows, but let's see if I can give a light !!
This is a very generic mistake, so it's complicated to tell you what will solve.
I imagine that has changed the name of the server and the right IP?
If yes, look at these files, $ oracle_home / rdbms / network / admin / tnsnames.ora and listener.ora These 2 files usually have server or IP name, then you need to correct them.
If you know what Listener is, you need to restart them, there must be a service called lsnr_nomebanco, a restart on it and see if it solves.
If this does not solve.
Please pass more details on how you are doing to migrate the bank from one server to the other.

Oops!
explains something I did not understand ............
You are with the server in Domino right, then you can not create a base of Data, or do you normally create it and when you try to connect it presents this message?
or
You are with the bank created but when you try to connect it brings you this message ??
If this is, where are you trying to make the connection with the bank?
(SQLPlus / SYSDBA)
or
(SQLPLUS USER / PASSWORD @ NOMEDOBANCO)
The listener is in the air ?
Enterprise Manager has been configured, if yes, it works ??
Even you do not understand anything are simple questions to check, but see this and send back to Forum ..........
Hugs,

This is strange, I just did the same test as you, and it simply worked!
Only when I did not exactly what you did, at the time of installation of the software I decided to create the bank later.
I have an environment 2008 R2 here, try to do this and send the forum result

Just to pass a little experience, whenever IP or machine name or domain name, must be corrected for the correct name or IP. After corrected restart the Listener service.
Enterprise Manager should be redone in case of machine name switching.
$ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/listner.oraEnterprise Manager should be redone in case of machine name switching.

I'm spending greater roe.
In my case, my environment is as follows:
Windows 2003 virtualized and domain.
When I install Oracle "8i", it installs the tool, but at the time of the creation of DB, this protocol error.
I did to create the bank afterwards, and also the same error.
I turned on Listener, SQL.NET and TNSNAMES.
I turned on the service manager, I turned the internet from head. Nothing makes it work.
Tent Connection via Conn / Sysdba and also gives the same error.
I reinstalled about 800 times and the error blows.
One thing that caught my attention was that I installed the same Oracle in my home also in Windows 2003 virtualized environment and everything worked perfect.
I'm suspected of being the domain. It makes sense:?
But I have a same bench running in domain in production, I was trying to climb a machine in virtual to create test instances.
Urgent .... Please ..!

Hello,
There is a note in Metalink that may be related to the error you are facing:
For the solution to this problem, the note relates a series of patchesets (correct packages), according to the release of the bank. These packages can only be obtained within Metalink.
Hugs,
Sergio Coutinho
