Environment information: *
* Oracle version: Oracle XE 10
* Operating system: Windows 7 32 - Ultimate
Good evening Sirs,
I have a mistake and I do not know what else to do. A college comrade introduced me and I was trying to help you solve, but without success. I looked at the Internet reports about it, the more I have found a few relevant information. When it suddenly happened to me too! You're out of nowhere, I'll report it.
I have Oracle XE 10 installed on my machine, as well as Toad and Erwin, all running perfectly. As always, I go up the Oracle service manually and use without problems all the tools, but today, when trying to create a connection from Erwin, I received the "fatal" error:
From then, my torture began.
I continue to connect normally through SQL * Plus, Toad, but my Erwin "went to the bag."
The only changes I made on my machine this morning, was the installation of some DW / BI tools as I was allocated to work on a customer through a DW consulting. I do not know, I say, I do not know if these tools may be "competing" or interfering with some appeal from Oracle. Therefore, I tried to do the following:
* Change the Oracle standard service port;
* Create a connection string in Erwin's "Connection String";
* Repair the Oracle installation;
* Start and restart services;
* I restarted the machine;
But everything without success!
sincerely friends, I do not know what else to do, so I'm using you in search of a help and possible solution.
Note: My friend's machine that has the same problem has nothing installed beyond the basics.
If anyone can help me, I am very grateful.
AT.

Sohen !!!
I believe the problem is already solved.
only to update with one more possibility.
Checks if your environment variables have not been changed.
When you install another Oracle tool in Windows, it usually overwrites the bank variables, and this causes the error.
Big hug!

Good afternoon friend.
Unfortunately it has not yet been solved. I had disenchanted already. But I need to solve yet.
I even considered the hypothesis of conflict of services, doors, firewall. Because I have installed on my machine other BD tools that I need to use in customers, example, teradata, mainframe emulators, and so on! I also thought of being a problem with environment variables, but as I do not have in-depth oracle configuration knowledge, I do not know the parameters for configuration.
If someone can help me, I am grateful.
Abç.

Tinho,
Have you taken a look at the links I gave you? Did not they help at all in your problem?
Rereading your initial information on this thread, I have some doubts.
You can give more information about the tools you installed on your computer, type:
- Product name
- Manufacturer
] - Exact product release.
It would also be cool if you passed detailed information about the operating system on your machine: would Linux, XP, Vista, Windows 7?
Also pass the exact version of the tools that stopped working:
- Product name
- Release
Your other colleague who has passed this problem: does he also have the same tools (including releases) installed on his machine? His operational system would be the same as yours?
If you are willing, we can set up a script and review all the parameters of your environment. Maybe it's a bit boring and tiring process. And I do not even assure you that we will solve the same.
But I confess that it would have even interested in discovering the exact cause of this problem.
I am waiting for your information,
Hugs,
Sergio Coutinho

Sorry for the delay in answering, I'm working on the client and the internet is blocked here and how I'm doing a course at night, I'm not long ago to access the forum.
In any case thanks for the tips, I got to look at the first link, but the site is paid the other I checked, but not unfortunately did not help me much, not since my application And the bank are places, I do not have other versions installed and the service is normally activated and not the duplicity of the quoted DLL.
Only for science, in that forum there is another topic that a colleague helped with the following information:
I checked the permissions on the firewall, I released some accesses and did not resolve. They have already told me that it may be environmental variable problem and also be in case of "reassemble" the bank.
answering his questions as the installed tools were as follows:
* Teradata 13;
* BMC Remedy User;
* Extra! Personal Client 32-bit;
The information on my machine, follows:
* Oracle version: Oracle XE 10;
* Operating system: Windows 7 32 bits / x86 - Ultimate;
In the case of my colleague, his computer is "zerated", there is nothing, only S.O and the standards applications. He installed the same version of Oracle than mine and OS and Win7 as well.
As for riding the suggested script, I top yes, and I am at your disposal. I only ask for patience due to the delay in answering, but I will try to be more agile and efficient in the answers, okay?
grateful,

grateful,
Comrades, I learned to live with this error in my machine and the fact that I can not make a reverse engineering connected or replicate changes in Erwin directly into the bank. But still, I am looking for a possible solution, so we would strictly like to revive this topic in search of a solution.
Note: Forgive me the post duplicity, since it also exists in the PL / SQL index;
