Hi!

I have already found several forums about oracle problems in Windows 7 (up to one here in glufke.net), but none solved my problem.
I need to just install Oracle Client on Windows 7 Professional 64bits.

I downloaded the version "Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.4.0)
Enterprise / Standard Edition for Microsoft Windows Vista X64, Windows Server 2008 x64, Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 X64, Windows 7 x64 "
http://download.oracle.com/otn/nt/oracl ... client.zip). When I try to install appears:

Select all

Checking operating system version: must be 5.0, 5.1, 5.2 or 6.0. Actual 6.1 Failed <<<<
I came to edit the file oraparam.ini, but it did not work.

Downloaded the version "Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.5) Enterprise / Standard Edition for Microsoft Windows (64-Bit Itanium) - http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/datab ... 90455.html)". As well as It did not work: "The version of this file is not compatible with the Windows version running ...

Does anyone know how to do this installation?

Hello,

Do you have to be Oracle 10g? Oracle 11g installs perfectly and even oracle 10g but there has the pog ...

if you have Oracle 10g, let's go to the workaround ... (or POG if you prefer ...)

Open a DOS prompt and type

Select all

10204_vista_w2k8_x86_production_client\client\Disk1\setup.exe -ignoresysprereqs
With this the installation will ignore the pre-systems of system etc. ..

But I find it strange, I edited the file oraparam.ini and I added a block with Windows 6.1 and it worked perfectly ...

Thanks for the answer.

Today I tried to edit the oraparam.ini again and it worked out too. The modifications were:

Select all

1. client\install\oraparam.ini : Change entry Windows=5.0,5.1,5.2,6.0 to Windows=5.0,5.1,5.2,6.0,6.1
2. client\stage\prereq\db\refhost.xml: Include a tag for 6.1 also.
3. client\stage\prereq\db_prereqs\db\refhost.xml: Include a tag for 6.1 also.
